John Fairburn was a popular bookseller and publisher, particularly known for his Theatrical publications.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe engraving has been cut down in the Victorian period and applied to black paper\/backing behind a gold card mount. The engraving is housed in its original stained wood frame complete with gilt slip; this genuine miniature engraving depicts William IV (b 1765 – d 1837) who was King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and King of Hanover from 1830 until his death in 1837. He was the third son of George III, William succeeded his elder brother George IV, becoming the last king and penultimate monarch of Britain's House of Hanover.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eHis wife was Queen Adelaide (b 1792 – d 1849). The pair was crowned King and Queen on September the 8th 1831.
