Each has the most decorative Imari type pattern of Lotus leaves upon a cobalt blue ground with top quality gilding and a rich glassy glaze. Of course at this 1810 period Imari patterns were all of the rage inspired by Japanese wares. Most English porcelain manufacturers produced their own version of Imari patterns think of Chamberlains, Spode, Ridgway and Coalport. Thomas Grainger (1783-1839) of Grainger Worcester was no different and together with his partner John Wood ran a successful porcelain business noted for their beautiful ornamental Imari patterns and wares.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis beautiful Imari design is exceptional in all of its details and quality of the hand painting.
