This is a desk seal with brass base matrix for pressing in red melted wax to seal letters and correspondence. This seal was made from a natural Victorian pressed cow horn (Bovine) material featuring inset mother-of-pearl tabs. The bust depicts the Reverend John Wesley (1703–1791), the founder of Methodism, dressed in traditional clerical attire.
