It is an absolute darling, one of a pair each sold separately...see last images for display ideas!!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis small jug features classical scenes with engine turned design towards the base. Gorgeous thumb piece and acanthus leaf designed pouring lip. We see a putto wearing a hat and holding a dove in one hand, birds nest on the other hand at his feet a loyal dog. The scene under the lip features a classically inspired allegory of women emptying a cornucopia filled with fruits\/flowers. One of the ladies is sat on a bail of packed and tied cotton, an anchor can be seen at her side. This is an allegory for Industry\/Plenty\/Hope. The third scene depicts a little clothed boy playing with his dog. Some of these child subjects were made popular in the 1780s by Josiah Wedgwood for his Jasperware creations.
