Hoop rolling was a popular child’s game during the first half of the 19th century.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe scene is titled ‘Amusement’ and features a poem below:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e‘When first the ball, or hoop, or kite, with speechless rapture pleased my sight. What was it kindled such delight. My Children.’\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe plate also features the most wonderful hand decorated raised floral border. Notice also the faint impressed crown manufactures mark to the base.
