It is their naïve charm that appeals. They are becoming very hard to discover so know is your chance to snap up this little treasure.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis wonderful hand coloured engraving is titled ‘Happiness’ and was printed in England during the early 19th century, circa 1815. The engraving depicts a couple in domestic bliss. The young mother and her daughter cuddled together on the garden bench with the son running to greet father who has just returned with the evening meal in hand.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe print was printed and sold by ‘P and P Gally.’ P and P Gally who were printers and publishers based in London who was active during the late 18th and early 19th century. Such prints would have hung on the interior walls of everyday folk, that is why they are often affectionately referred to as cottage prints, or nursery prints (the ones that have a moral).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe engraving is housed behind old glass in its original wood frame.
