Small scent flasks were a necessity at this time as sanitation was generally poor, and to mask those nasty whiffs one could unstopper your handy scent flask to smell something a little more pleasant.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis wonderful little glass scene bottle was made in England during the late 18th century\/early 19th century. The circa 1800 period glass scent bottle features the original owner’s monogram reading ‘E.H.’ The scent bottle also features hand etched leaf detailing to the reverse. Such a high quality engraving, the buyer would have bought this bottle plain then had it expertly engraved with his lover's initials...so romantic.
