The sanguine (blood red) coloured prints features a profile portrait of King George III and Queen Charlotte.\u003cbr\u003e\nGeorge III (b 1738 – d 1820) was King of Great Britain and Ireland from 25 October 1760 until his death in 1820. The Acts of Union 1800 unified Great Britain and Ireland into the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, with George as its king.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eCharlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (b 1744 – d 1818) was Queen of Great Britain and Ireland as the wife of King George III from their marriage on 8 September 1761 until her death in 1818.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe engravings are housed behind old glass in their original oval fruitwood frames. This is sooo rare to have them in their original 1700s frames!!The engravings have been trimmed to fit the frame with the remains of the text sections beneath the prints cut and applied verso (a very common practice).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis is the perfect pair of engravings for anyone who loves British history, in particular the Royal Family.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eMeasuring: Frame width 3 3\/8 inch (8.5 cm) by height 4 1\/8 inch (11 cm). Aperture width 1 ¾ inch (4.5 cm) by height 2 3\/8 inch (6 cm).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eCondition: Good, genuine patina. Both frames appear unopened. Historic repaired crack to Queen Charlotte frame at 6 o’clock which is perfectly stable and again very common on oval and circular frames. Also a minor area of discolouration to paper. There is minor old debris behind the glass of George.
