He was a philanthropist and early English prison reformer. \u003cbr\u003eSize: 28 mm diameter, approx 1 1\/8 inch.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCondition: Fair condition considering its vast age and the fact that a very long time ago it was made in to a button. It was at that period that it was painted black. The black covering has worn in places. Also a slight unevenness at 5 o'clock.
