Made in the 1820 period with this decorative pink lustre. The mug features a monochrome transfer printed courtship scene depicting a couple sat on an ornate bench in the grounds of a large country house estate.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eCourtship scenes were particularly popular during the 18th century; this scene clearly takes influence from the scenes found on Mezzotints from this period. Printed scenes such as ‘Persuasion’, ‘The Musing Fair’ and ‘The Tempting Fair’ that were all published in Mezzotint form during the 18th century.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe mug also features two wonderful bands of pink lustre decoration; the handle is also decorated in pink lustre decoration.
