Having a circular the pull off cover painted with a half length portrait study of Angelika, titled in red to the underside of the lid. As we all know there are varying forms of quality to the portraits on antique snuff boxes. Ours is a fine quality portrait, very similar in quality to the Stobwasser snuff boxes marked in red produced in Brunswick, Germany at this period.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWe see a beautiful portrait study of a young lady with loose curls flowing around her neck. She wears a yellow, feathered bergère style hat. She wears a white Empire line dress to accentuate her womanly figure. With green shawl and the hint of a blue sash tie below her bust line. We believe that this is a portrait of Angelika Kauffman\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSize: Diameter 3 5\/8\" (9cm) by  Height 3\/4\" (2 cm).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eCondition: Not too bad at all for its 200 years. A restored\/ filled in chip at 9 to 10 o'clock. A small little edge chip to base foot rim. A couple of small, very old flaked areas to portrait, clearly seen in images.
