18th Century Painting Portrait Miniature Young Gentleman Gilt Oval Frame Circa 1790
Item Description
This charming little portrait miniature was painted in England during the early 18th century, circa 1790. The watercolour features a handsome young gentleman who is facing us; he is wearing his best coat frock coat with neck cloth, frill and blue ribbon bow - to the centre of the bow is a gold tie pin! This is a charming portrait of a young fellow in his university years. The painting is housed behind old glass in its original gilt oval frame. This is a quality little frame in a scarce small size.
This original George III era portrait miniature is the perfect country house antique. Its small size allows it to fit in perfectly with your other portrait miniatures from this period.
Measuring: Frame width 4 ¼ inch (11 cm) by height 4 ¼ inch (10.5 cm). Aperture width 2 1/8 inch (5.5 cm) by height 2 ¾ inch (7 cm).
Condition: Light surface wear to frame, nothing untoward.
