19th Century American Folk Art Cat Girl Blue Dress Drawing Watercolor Painting After Kellogg Brothers C 1840
Item Description
This wonderful watercolour drawing of a little girl and cat was produced in England during the 19th century, circa 1840. The drawing is on paper and features a little girl in a blue dress at in the garden with her pet cat who has spotted a bird in the bush. Drawings like these are so hard to find! The drawing also features painted detailing in watercolour. The painting is housed behind its original glass in its original frame with painted detailing. Painted detailing to imitate a more expensive frame, this form of stencilled frame is highly sought after by collectors. This is a fantastic little artwork that is perfect for anyone who loves childhood art and antiques, anyone who loves cats! The painting strikes a wonderful mix between the folk art/naïve and the more accomplished pieces.
