19th Century Catholic Lithograph Print John The Baptist and Lamb C 1840 Shabby Chic
Item Description
This wonderful hand coloured lithograph print was produced during the 19th century, circa 1840. The title reads ‘Le Petit St. Jean Baptiste. El Santisimo Joanna Batisto. The Litell St. John.’ The print depicts the The Nativity of Saint John the Baptist. This fabulous print will display excellently. The print was engraved by Thomas Napoleon (b 1810). The print was published and printed by Jean-Baptiste Gadola (1818-1870).
The print is housed behind wonderful old bubbled glass in its original wood frame with the most ornate embossed and gilded paper covering. This is a decorative print, the perfect item for anyone looking for the shabby chic look. This item is one of a pair each sold separately.
Measuring: Frame width 11.5 inch (29 cm) by height 14.5 inch (37 cm). Aperture width 9.75 inch (25 cm) by height 13 inch (33 cm).
Condition: Minor surface wear to frame, some lifting to the painted sections of the print, a few minor perforations and some minor discolouration to the paper.
