Item Description

We could not resist this charming English engraving as the subject matter is so very appealing. This wonderful coloured engraving was printed in England during the early 19th century, circa 1805. The engraving is titled ‘The Mother’s Pride’ and was engraved by the Flemish engraver Anthony Cardon (b 1772 –d 1813) after a painting by the artist W. P. J. Lodder. The print has not been examined outside of the frame so we assume publishers details have been trimmed to fit the frame.

The engraving features a child, sat on an upturned wheelbarrow playing with their dog with the cat creeping up on them in the garden potting shed. The engraving is housed behind old glass in a lovely mid-19th century frame.

This is the perfect item for anyone who loves the English Country House look, in particular pieces featuring cats and dogs!
