19th Century Painting Portrait Miniature On Porcelain Girl And Puppies C 1850 after Greuze
Item Description
This wonderful small portrait was produced during the 19th century, circa 1850. The portrait has been expertly painted on porcelain by a follower of Jean-Baptiste Greuze (1725-1805) who was a well known genre painter.
The portrait has been expertly painted on porcelain. The portrait features a wistful little girl in a blue dress cradling two newborn puppies in her arms. The portrait is housed in its original gilt gesso easel style frame. This truly is a fabulous combination that we guarantee will delight!
Measuring: Frame width 4 1/8 inch (10.5 cm) by height 4 ¾ inch (12 cm). Aperture width 2 3/8 inch (6 cm) by height 3 inch (8 cm).
Condition: Light surface wear commensurate with age. Minor hairline to intersection of frame at 11 o clock.
