What a lovely little pair of 6th plate hand coloured ambrotype photographs these are! This wonderful pair of cased hand tinted photographs were produced in England during the 19th century. The first photograph features a little girl sat facing us. She is wearing the most wonderful striped dress, brooch and a belt with a decorative buckle. The photograph is of the highest quality and has excellent level of detailing.
The second photograph features the little girl’s mother. The photograph features a seated lady facing us. She is wearing a dress, brooch, earrings and a long chain. The photograph is of the highest quality and has an excellent level of detailing.
The photographs are housed in their original matching cased frames; the pinchbeck style mats are still so bright! This is the perfect pair of photographs for a collector, mother or daughter!
Measuring: Case width when closed 3 1/8 inch (8 cm) by height 3.75 inch (9.5 cm). Aperture width 2 inch (5 cm) by height 2.5 inch (6 cm).
Condition: Two areas of damage to the gorgeous interior red velvet lining of little girl photograph, ripple/bubble to underside of glass at 3 o clock from manufacturing. Light ghosting to table area on the mother photograph. Light surface wear to cases commensurate with age.
