Antique 9 inches German Bisque Doll by Schoenau & Hoffmeister Porzellanfabrik Burggrub 1909 10/0
Item Description
We are delighted to have discovered for you this very sweet, small 9 1/8 inch tall doll. She was made around the 1909 period by Schoenau and Hoffmeister Porzellanfabrik-Burggrub (SHPB), at Burggrub in Germany. She is a honey in this small size, and comes complete with her original period organdy deep frilled bonnet, matching flounced dress. With all in one crochet undergarment which does not seem to be removable.
She has a bisque head with painted eyebrows, sleeping rocker gray swirl glass eyes. Painted red lips and a row of tiny teeth. She has a brown mohair wig pate. She has a paper mache composition body with ball jointed limbs.
Marked to the back of the head SH for Schoenau & Hoffmeister and PB for Porzellanfabrik-Burggrub within an impressed star shape ,1909, 10/0 Germany. She retains all her fingers and toes.
Size: 9 1/8 inch
Condition: Good and sound. Eyes open and close well. Joints have been restrung at some point in the past, they are good and strong but her hands are put on the wrong way around! A few composition flakes missing to the ball joints, under her finger and base of foot. Not noticeable on display.
