Antique Blue and White Plate English Pearlware Transferware Circa 1830 AF

This wonderful reticulated pearlware plate was produced in England, circa 1830. The plate features a decorative blue and white transfer printed design . The large monastery on the hill within its walled grounds dominates the rural landscape. The plate features the most wonderful reticulated, or pierced, border. What a beautiful piece of pottery this is. The plate is so unusual, so decorative. It will display excellently and is perfect for anyone who appreciates the English country house look.

Provenance: Trevor Kentish (b 1938 — d 2017) was an experienced collector of English blue and white pottery and porcelain and the former editor of The Friends of Blue society. He was a member of the society for some 30 years as well as the treasurer for several other pottery and porcelain societies.

Measuring: Diameter 8.75 inch (22.5 cm).

Condition: Perfectly stable old hairline at 12 o'clock and old stress mark to glaze at 2 o'clock. Old surface chip to underside of rim. Minor surface grazes to foot rim and a couple of underglaze chips from manufacturing, ‘y’ shape stress mark to base of plate. Not too apparent at all but mentioned for accuracy.
