Item Description
This charming little ebonized money bank was produced during the 19th century, circa 1860. The lid of the box features inlaid gilt metal text reading ‘Trésor’ which is French for ‘Treasure’. The money bank opens via a hinged lid. The box once had a locking mechanism, but the lock has since been removed. The item likely first started life as a double perfume caddy. This is a quality item, notice the gilt brass stringing to all sides.
Measuring: Frame width 4 3/8 inch (11 cm) by height 3 ¾ inch (9.5 cm). Depth 2 3/8 inch (6 cm). Please ignore any room reflections on the shiny box surface.
Condition: Some age related wear to the box, the occasional chip and scratch.
