Antique Christmas 1904 800 Sterling Silver Love Heart Box Tiny Romantic

This very sweet, very charming little antique solid silver hinged box is the perfect Christmas gift for a loved one to open on Christmas morning. It dates to the 1890 to 1900 art nouveau period and has repousse garlands of flowers to the lid and to the sides. We love the pretty crimped edges to the lid and base too. The extra endearing aspect to this little trinket box is the engraved wording to the base, 'Noel 1904'. Somebody gave their heart away at Christmas 1904!!

Fully hallmarked to the base for 800, a maker's mark of a crown with initials SR under, another little design to the right possibly an axe...we are thinking German in origin. Lift the hinged lid to reveal the gilt lining.

A wonderful little box for your boudoir table, or imagine an engagement ring inside??

Condition: Very good, opens and closes well. Evidence of old silver cleaning fluid in the detailing. Uncleaned interior.
