Item Description
A superb little mid 19th century portrait on enamel of a late 18th century lady, complete with tall hair and dormeuse cap. This tiny portrait was executed by a good artist upon a thin sheet of enamelled copper. The portrait attached to card and set within this gloriously ornate pressed brass/repousse frame (no glass - not intended to be behind glass).
This is a heavenly little combination worthy of adorning any room, or special doll boudoir.
A scarce example waiting to charm its next guardian.
Frame size: 4 inch tall by 3.5 inch wide. Actual oval enamel 1.75 inch by 1.5 inch sight
Condition: Very good, with very minor age related wear to the enamel portrait.
