Antique Miniature French Sterling Silver Dolls Purse Circa 1840 AF

We are delighted to offer this gorgeous little original mid 19th century dolls purse. This is a quality little French purse. Having a hallmarked sterling silver push button opener frame and silver plate mesh body. The mesh body is intricately made from tiny flat metal rings interlinked with chain connectors. Having matching base tassels. The original chain handle is exquisite with tiny little balls on each tiny ring.

Size: 1 3/4 inch at the widest point x purse body 2 1/2 long, excl handle and tassels, 4 inch long in its entirety.

Condition: Rubbed French poincon/ hallmarks. The clasp works and stays shut, but is fiddly to open. A couple of tiny rings missing and replaced with old wire to close the gap (seen in image of open purse). Some wear to the silver plate chain connectors showing the under copper. One central base tassel may be missing.
