This wonderful blue and white porcelain sprigged mug was produced in England circa 1820. The decorative Georgian mug was manufactured by Job Ridgway & Sons and features three sprigged classical style scenes in cartouche. Notice the chariots, cherubs, putti and the lions. Job Ridgway & Sons produced high quality pottery and porcelain at their factory in Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent. The Ridgway family was one of the UK’s most important pottery manufacturers.
This is a stunning mug by one of the most sought after makers. The perfect piece for anyone who loves classical style antiques or has a passion for early 19th century ceramics.
