Antique Oak Love Heart Plaque with Horse Brass Mounts C 1890

This is a wonderful example of quality 19th century treen. This wonderful heart or shield shaped plaque was hand made in England during the 1890s. The plaque is constructed from English oak and has the MOST gorgeous mellow color with the MOST fabulous aged patina. The plaque has very old antique applied little horse brass mount details, with central beehive form disc which were used to cover the buckles on the horse's head harness.

This is a lovely country house antique, perfect for display in your hallway, or on your fire breast wall. Or the perfect family gift as you could have family members names engraved on each mount.

This is a really decorative and unique item with the pressed brass combined with the English oak. One usually finds the horse brasses singular, or upon their leather backs.

Measuring: Width 7.5 inch (19 cm) by height 10.5 inch (27 cm).

Condition: Light surface wear to edges of frame. A stable old hairline to bottom right side.
