These genuine antique hens on nests really do make a great display feature. We have three all from the same previous owner, each different sizes, and each sold individually.
This delightful little miniature egg holder was made in the Staffordshire region of England around the 1870s period. This Victorian egg holder is modelled as a hen resting on her nest. The hen features extensive hand painted detailing. What a charming little hen! The egg holder is designed to hold just one egg. This is the perfect item for anyone who loves all things folk art and naïve.
Measuring: Width 4 inch (10 cm) by height 4 inch (10 cm). Depth 3 inch (7.5 cm).
Condition: Light surface wear commensurate with age. A few minor little chips to beak. Stable ‘x’ shape hairline to interior of base only.
