Antique Vienna Cold Painted Bronze French Bulldog Figure C 1880

This extremely rare miniature cold painted cast bronze figure of a French Bulldog was produced in Austria during the 19th century, circa 1880. The figure is modelled as a French Bulldog wearing a brown collar. He is very nicely modelled; the underside features the impressed mark reading ‘Geschutzt’ which translates as ‘protected.’ This means that the piece was manufactured by a quality maker who was a member or an official guild or association. We guarantee is is 100% bronze, you will see plenty of cold painted lead, or pewter figures misrepresented as Bronze!!

This is the perfect item for anyone who loves dogs, in particular French Bulldogs! It is also a great size for a larger doll house room scene.
