Item Description

This Georgian era decorative penwork sewing box was made here in England during the early 19th century, circa 1820. The George III box features a penwork scene to the lid depicting a rural church, which is an idyllic little scene. The box features extensive hand decorated floral detailing and opens via a hinged lid to reveal the inner storage compartment. The interior of the box is complete with its original Georgian pink paper lining. The dividing compartments are now missing, the lock is untested and a key is not included.

This antique box is perfect for anyone who is looking for a unique antique storage box for their home. 

Measuring: Width 6 ½ inch (16.5 cm) by height 2 3/8 inch (6 cm). Depth 4 inch (10 cm).

Condition: Age related surface wear commensurate with age. Perfectly strong and stable and ready for use/display.
