Item Description

This wonderful pair of genuine Staffordshire cats were produced during the 19th century, circa 1880. The figures are modelled as a pair of Tortoiseshell cats sat on a pair of cushions. The figures have been entirely decorated by hand; we love their Tortoiseshell colouring and their gold collars. They also feature lustre decoration to the tassels on the cushions. They really are so cute and display excellently.

They are perfect for anyone who loves cats! Please note these are a genuine Victorian pair, not to be confused with a modern reproduction that are sadly so common. Please see our collection of 18th and 19th century art and antiques listed separately in our store.

Measuring: Width 3 ½ inch (9 cm) by height 7 ¼ inch (18.5 cm).

Condition: Cat left has a few old minor underglaze stress lines to the rear body and to the underside of base. Cat Right has an old minor underglaze stress line to the rear body and two old chips to the rear tassels. Natural crazing throughout, the occasional minor little stress line. All to be expected on GENUINE figures.
