Item Description

This is a rare pearlware pottery money bank that was made in Victorian England during the 19th century, circa 1840. This is an incredibly unusual item, we have retailed many money banks from this period and we have not seen one like this before!

The pottery money bank features a single slot hole to the lid with applied flower pad just above it. The face of the money bank features two highly unusual applied dancing figures with a flower separating the pair. The coin bank sits upon its original bun feet. The bank has substantial weight and is completely original. This is the perfect item for anyone with a passion for rare and early ceramics; this is very likely the only surviving example.

Measuring: Width 4 5/8 inch (12 cm) by height 3 ¾ inch (9.5 cm). Depth 3 ½ inch (9 cm).

Condition: Minor chips to slot hole from original owner widening to retrieve coins, two minor chips to right hand figure.
