RARE 19th Century Sunderland Lustre Plaque Prepare To Meet Thy God C 1850
Item Description
This is one of our favourite items at the moment because of its rarity, small size and it is so pleasing to hold! This stunning pink lustre decorated pottery plaque was made in the North East region of England during the 19th century, circa 1840-60. The plaque features monochrome transfer printed text reading:
‘PREPARE TO MEET THY GOD. In thee O Lord do I put my trust; let me never be confounded; PSA XXXI. VIR I.’’
This is a fabulous example of 19th century lustre ware!
Measuring: Diameter 6 5/8 inch (17 cm).
Condition: Old surface chips at 12 o'clock, 6 and 9 o'clock.
