Item Description

We are excited to present this incredible child’s nursery ware plate! This is possibly an unrecorded piece, we have not seen another like it. The plate was produced in England during the 19th century, circa 1820. The plate would have been produced for children and would have been used as a teaching aid. The plate features a monochrome transfer printed alphabetical design with hand coloured floral detailing to the boarder.

We have retailed many items of early nursery ware and have not seen another like this. It is a fantastic item that is perfect for anyone who collects childhood antiques. Please see our collection of 18th and 19th century art and antiques listed separately in our store.

Measuring: Diameter 6 inch (15.5 cm).

Condition: There is a very thin old hairline that runs approx. 3 inches. You will notice that on one side it only runs up to the boarder edge so is perfectly strong and stable.
