RARE Early 19th Century Staffordshire Figure Lady Gardening Obadiah Sherratt C 1800
Item Description
This is a charming little figure that although missing her green leafy bocage, still manages to win your heart! This actually is a scarce little figure, she was made by Obadiah Sherratt in England during the early 19th century, circa 1800. This 200-year-old plus figure features a lady gardener. She can be seen holding a basket of fruit with a watering can in the other. We love the unusual style of fountain and you just cannot help but smile at her quirky facial expression!
This is a colourful figure that although missing parts still displays excellently. For comparison, we show in the last image two equally early figures with their leafy Bocage intact (retailed seperately).
Measuring: Width 2 5/8 inch (7 cm) by height 6 inch (15 cm).
Condition: Damaged, a good starter, or study piece. Bocage and handle of watering can is missing, top of hat missing a plumed feather. Reflected in her price.
