Item Description

A gorgeously vibrant electric blue silk satin hussif sewing roll from the late Victorian period. This large circa 1890 period Huswif is made from blue satin silk with quilting effect. The hussif unrolls to reveal its glazed cotton compartmentalised interior to store all of your sewing, knitting and crocheting tools. We see 9 compartments, some with old vintage bits and pieces remaining. Also a separate matching double silk skein holder. Plus a large pocket at either end with securing straps to hold your tools, patterns etc. The entire then rolls up and is tied with its original silk ribbon tie.

Size: Unrolled 22 inch long by 8 1/2 inch wide (56 cm by 21.5 cm). Rolled up approx 8 1/2 inch by 4 1/2 inch (21.5 cm by 11 cm)

Condition: Good and clean example, hardly if ever used. Some fragility and a few small holes to the original silk ribbon bow and ties.
