18th Century Stipple Engraving Palemon And Lavinia Rural Lovers Harvest English C 1780

This charming George iii stipple engraving was produced in England during the 18th century, circa 1780.

The scene is titled ‘Palemon And Lavinia’ and features, a gentleman, Palemon, expressing his love for Lavinia during a harvest.

The print also includes extract from the ‘The Four Seasons : Autumn’ a Poem by James Thomson. The print was engraved by Charles William White and published by Charles William White, Kemp's Row Chelsea, London, England.

The print is housed behind old glass in its original gilt Gesso frame. We have also shown you images of the engraving removed from the frame. The frame is lovely, the print displays excellently. A really uncommon scene that is perfect for anyone who loves antiques! One of a pair, each sold separately.

Measuring: Frame width 6 5/8 inch (17 cm) by height 9 inch (23 cm). Aperture width 4 5/8 inch (12 cm) by height 7 1/8 inch (18 cm).

Condition: A minor hole to paper below scene. A few little surface chips to edges of Gesso frame.
