This charming needlework on perforated paper was wrought in England during the 19th century, circa 1850. This Victorian needlework features a hound in a rural setting, barking at a tree! What a wonderful scene. The needlework is housed behind its original o;d bubbled glass in its original wooden frame that is complete with its original backing board. What a fantastic item that is perfect for anyone who loves dogs, anyone who loves English country house art and antiques.
Measuring: Frame width 12 ¼ inch (31 cm) by height 10 inch (25.5 cm). Aperture width 9 ½ inch (24 cm) by height 7 3/8 inch (18.5 cm).
Condition: A few minor areas of loss to woolwork stitches in his tummy area. Light surface wear to frame commensurate with age. There is a minor crack to the inner bottom section of the frame.
