19th Century Georgian Portrait Miniature Young Man Blue Background C 1810

This delightful, rather moody portrait miniature was painted in England during the 19th century, around the 1810 period. The watercolour portrait features a young man wearing his best brown frock coat with blue background behind. We beleive the blue background was chosen to match the boy's vivid blue eyes. The painting is housed behind its original convex glass in its original papier mache frame. The frame is even complete with its original backing paper with original owner/artists inscription reading ‘Mr John Dent.’ The little dots to the backing paper are ink, they are not woodworm or holes etc.

Measuring: Frame width 4 5/8 inch (12 cm) by height 5 ¾ inch (14.5 cm). Aperture width 2 5/8 inch (6.5 cm) by height 3 ¼ inch (8.5 cm).

Condition: Minor flaking to the Gum Arabic highlights. There are some little chips to the bottom of the right edge of the frame and the bottom edge of the frame.
