19th Century Iroquois Beadwork Pincushion Love Birds on Velvet
Item Description
This delightful cushion was hand made in America during the 19th century, circa 1880. The cushion features a beadwork design of a pair of birds (love birds)upon on a purple velvet ground. One of two, each sold individually (see last images)
This beautiful, cushion was made by a member of the Native American Indian Mohawk/ Iroquois nations from the upstate New York region and south east Canada during the last quarter of the 1800s. We adore indigenous Indian crafts and skills - a fascinating and very proud culture of thousands of years old.

Measuring: Width 8 ½ inch (21.5 cm) by height 3 1/4 inch (8 cm). Depth 6 inch (15 cm).
Condition: Good, strong and fresh condition. Minor age related wear throughout.
