Item Description

This large 1840s period dish is the perfect interior design piece. Made in England circa 1840 by a good quality papier mache maker. The quality still radiates from this item nearly 200 years later. The dish has the most appealing scalloped design being made from substantial papier mache and decorated in arabesques of deep gold and terracotta. It can serve as a stand alone work of art, or use it as it was originally intended for holding fruit, pot pourri, seasonal displays etc.

Size: 10 1/8 inch diameter by 1 3/4 inch high (26 cm by 5 cm)

Condition: Good and sound. It has a fabulous centuries old patina. Wear to the gilding and decoration as one would expect in an original antique piece. Nothing detrimental.
