Item Description

A very lovely little early English pottery figure from the 1800 to 1820 period. If like us you adore toy, and miniature pottery figures from this early period, she will make a welcome addition to your collection.

This charming English pottery figure was produced in the Yorkshire region of England. The subject matter, size, and charming naivety all make for a very appealing addition to your early pottery or toy pottery collection.

The hollow figure features a seated lady holding a wicker basket. She is underglaze decorated in tones of pink, blue and yellow. The grass is decorated by use of underglaze sponged technique, very synonymous with the Yorkshire potteries at this time. This delightful figure will display excellently in any setting.

Measuring: Width 2 inch (5 cm) by height 3 7/8 inch (10 cm). Depth 1 ¾ inch (4.5 cm).

Condition: As found with repaired damage. There is a long hairline crack to the figure which run from the base up and over her right arm. To the rear of the figure there has been a breakage at the base which has been repaired and over painted. The figure is not perfect but is absolutely perfectly stable and she displays very well.
