19th Century P And P Gally Print Spring Summer Engraving C 1815 AF
Item Description
This rare and decorative hand coloured engraving was printed in England circa 1815. The print was published and sold by ‘P and P Gally’. P and P Gally were printers and publishers based in London who were active during the late 1700s and early 1800s.
This wonderful genuine print is titled “Spring/Summer" and depicts the changing of the season in a rural setting. Spring features a mother watering the flowers with her children in the grounds of a country house estate. Summer features the same mother with her children collecting wheat from the fields. The print is housed behind old glass in its original pressed brass frame. Please excuse any reflections on the glass.
This is the perfect opportunity to own such a charming nursery print. The perfect artwork for anyone looking for the country house look.
Measuring: Frame width 7 ½ inch (19 cm) by height 5 ½ inch (14 cm). Aperture width 6 inch (15 cm) by height 4 inch (10 cm).
Condition: Historic darkening to pressed brass frame which is now VERY fragile. Care should be taken when handling as the metal is old and flaking. Two sections of pressed brass are missing to the frame, bottom corners.
