19th Century Portrait Miniature Gentleman In Top Hat C 1820

We do like a characterful portrait miniature, and this chap certainly has lots of character.

This delightful portrait miniature was painted in England during the Georgian period, circa 1820. This is an appealing painting because the larger gentleman sitter can be seen wearing a top hat! Portrait miniatures with top hats are much less common and are sought after by collectors. The portrait miniature is on paper/card and is housed behind glass in its original papier mache frame. The frame is a wonderful example. This is the perfect item for anyone who collects all things Georgian and Regency.

Measuring: Frame width 5 ¾ inch (14.5 cm) by height 6 ½ inch (16.5 cm). Aperture width 3 inch (7.5 cm) by height 3 ¾ inch (9.5 cm).

Condition: Minor age related darkening to the paper.
