Item Description

This delightful cut paper portrait silhouette was produced in England during the 1830s. The silhouette features a half-length portrait of a lady wearing a silk cap and a wide collar dress with large Gigot, or leg of mutton sleeves. The silhouette is housed behind glass in its original bird’s eye maple frame which is complete with its original backing board. This is the perfect item for anyone who loves silhouettes, it is ready for display!

Measuring: Frame width 5 ¾ inch (14.5 cm) by height 6 7/8 inch (17.5 cm). Aperture width 2 7/8 inch (7.5 cm) by height 4 inch (10.5 cm).

Condition: The occasional small surface chip to the veneer but overall very good.
