Antique Blue & White Transferware Tea Bowl and Saucer, 1810 Regency
Item Description
We are delighted to have discovered this charming little tea bowl and saucer that was produced in England during the early 19th century, circa 1810. The blue and white transfer printed design features a mother and her four children playing in the fields chasing a butterfly; we love the quaint cottage in the background and the painted ochre rim. This wonderful tea bowl and saucer will display excellently alongside any collection of English blue and white pottery and porcelain. It is remarkable that this item has survived some 200 plus years. We have not been able to find another example of this pattern.
This is a quality piece; please see our collection of 19th century transferware listed separately in our store.
Measuring: Tea bowl diameter 2 7/8 inch (7.5 cm) by height 1 7/8 inch (4.7 cm). Saucer diameter 4 7/8 inch (12 cm).
Condition: Light surface wear and natural crazing throughout commensurate with age, smallest shallow graze to foot rim of the saucer and 1/16 inch shallow chip to foot rim of tea bowl, mentioned for accuracy.
