Item Description

A gorgeously vivid raffia bonnet from the 1910 to 1925 era. This antique item of period clothing is just so decorative, you will have tremendous fun deciding where to display it. This small bonnet has pink raffia rows each row having a decorative purple blackberry/ caneberry leaf design. The interior has retained its bright pink finest cotton lining. This raffia cap is very much influenced in designed by Paul Poiret design studio Atelier Martine. Also, see a similar example at The Met Museum, Accession Number: 2009.300.4231

Size: 8" from crown to tip of forehead by 7" high. Crown width 4.5" at widest pint reducing to 3" at base of neck.

Condition: Fragile, worn display condition and most definitely not for wearing. This item of period clothing is over 100 years old and is made from delicate straw.
