Antique English Portrait Miniature Painting of a Little Girl Circa 1880
Item Description
This delightful miniature watercolor portrait on card dates to the late Victorian era, circa 1880. This charming portrait depicts a little girl, one of a pair of sisters, each retailed separately. This unique portrait has a charm of its own because we do not see the little girl's face, rather peculiarly it is painted from behind. This dinky painting would make a fine addition to a nursery or special toy collector's room. This is one of a pair, each sold separately.
This portrait depicts a younger girl who is dressed in a pretty pink lace cape with matching dress and lace trim poke bonnet. She wears white ankle socks and black button fasten shoes. She carries a wicker basket.
This sweet watercolor is housed behind glass in dark stained wooden ribbed frame.
Measuring: Frame width 4 inch (10.5 cm) by height 5.25 inch (13 cm) by depth 0.5 inch (1 cm). Aperture width 2.75 inch (7 cm) by height 3.75 inch (9.5 cm).
Condition: Good and sound. For accuracy the paper is very slightly darkened with age compared to her older sister (who is retailed separately). We have taped the reverse for transit.
Please note the items shown in the final three images are not included.
