Item Description
We are delighted to offer this wonderful early Victorian French giltwood stand, or sometimes called a socle, or plateau. Dating from the 1840 it probably originally was a display stand for a religious ornament. It now makes a fabulous display stand for any of your special treasures, see last photos for inspiration (each for sale individually and not incl).
It was made form gilded wood and is offered with the remains of its original purple velvet top. It also has its original four wooden bun feet. The only difficulty that you will have with this fine piece, is choosing which item to display on it!!
Size: 1 3/4 inch tall by 5 1/2 inch wide at the front, 6 inch wide at the back, by 4 inches deep (4.5 cm by 14 cm by 15 cm by 10 cm)
Condition: Good antique condition. The pile of the purple velvet top is very worn away.
