Antique Musical Marotte Doll Bisque Socket Head Fully Working German/French Circa 1890

We are excited to offer our antique doll and antique automata collectors this gorgeous example of a fully working musical marotte doll. You can easily imagine Victorian children being spell bound by this musical wonder. One hundred and thirty five years later she is still working her magic on adults and children alike.

We offer you this unmarked antique marotte with a bisque socket head, fine painted brows, piercing blue swirl glass eyes and open mouth with tiny teeth. Just look at those rosey cheeks and original white blonde mohair hair. She wears her original once white (now grubby) felt and candy pink striped hat with original pink wool circular dot decoration. Her clothing is original. Lace collar, candy pink striped cotton triangular flaps, pink silk under garment to cover the musical cylinder base. Original wooden stick spinner that you spin to create the very pretty little tune.

Size: 12 inch tall ( 30.5 cm)

Condition: Good fully working order. Costume showing its age. Signs of use, some perishing to the pink silk, age darkening to the white felt.
