Item Description
A delightful little needle packet box in wonderful condition for all of our sewing tool collectors. This small fold out assorted size needle packet box dates from the 1870s. This Victorian casket shaped box is made of card, covered in pretty Dresden gold and white embossed paper. It is all complete and original including the chromo-lithograph die cuts on the mirror and the inside fold out. The accordion design fold out leaves held packets of sewing needles from sizes 6 to 8. You will know that very often this internal fold out section can be missing! Ours has even retained one packet of Harrisons & Bartlet's Size 8 Superior Oval Eyed Sharps.
Size: Closed 1 1/8 inch tall by 2 1/2 inch wide by 1 3/4 inch deep (2.5 cm by 6.3 cm by 4.8 cm)
Condition: Very good and sound. The mirror is all original and in good undamaged condition (ignore reflections please) Minor age rubbing to hinge area. Minor age dulling to gold paper inside reverse.
