Antique Victorian Sewing Roll Hussif Housewife Circa 1860

A beautiful and tiny little silk sewing roll from the mid 19th century, circa 1850 to 1870. We would think due to the small size, made for a childs sewing box. This early Victorian delight is so vibrant in this tomato red and purple striped colorway with silk fringed sides, most likely made from a French woven silk ribbon.

Complete with crepe needle holder and one remaining needle. When unrolled, we find a small inner compartment at one end.
This is a delicious antique confection, perfect for a sewing tool accessory collection.

Size: Closed 2 inch (5 cm) by 3.25" (8 cm), Unfolded 9 1/2" (24 cm)

Condition: All good and sound. Minor perishing to the silk body just under the button and loop. Minor age foxing to the crepe needleholder fabric.
